There is something that happens almost every week, and most entrepreneurs don’t talk about it. Monday starts with clarity. There’s a plan. A list. A sense of direction. By Tuesday, things still feel manageable. But somewhere around Wednesday, things may shift. You start to feel it. The uncertainty. The second-guessing. The question of whether what you’re doing is actually the right next step. And instead of moving forward, you slow down. Not because you’re lazy. Not because you lack discipline. But because you’ve reached a point where you need clarity—and you don’t have a place to get it. So what do most people do? They push through. They open another tab. Watch another video. Revisit their notes. Start tweaking something that didn’t need to be tweaked. And by the end of the week, they’ve been busy… …but not necessarily productive. This is where momentum breaks down. Not at the beginning of the week—but in the middle of it. The Real Problem Isn’t Effort Most entrepreneurs are not feeling stuck because they aren’t trying. Many times, they are feeling stuck because they are trying to figure everything out alone. And there comes a point in the process where:
There’s no space or community in which to process decisions in real time. You can’t think clearly when everything is staying in your head. You can’t move forward when you’re constantly questioning your direction. And you definitely can’t build momentum when every decision feels like guesswork. What Actually Restores Momentum Momentum doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from doing the right next thing with clarity. And clarity doesn’t always come from thinking harder. It comes from:
Momentum is built in community—when you have the right kind of support around you. A Different Approach What if, instead of pushing through confusion or feeling stuck… You had a place to stop, think, and reset? A place where:
And it’s the reason momentum keeps breaking down. Reflection Where does your momentum or progress typically break down —and what do you usually do in that moment to try to push through it? If you’ve been building, planning, or trying to figure things out on your own, you’ve probably felt the weight of having to make every decision by yourself.
Clarity doesn’t have to come from sitting with it longer. It often comes from being in the right kind of community—where you can ask questions, talk through ideas, and hear perspectives that help you move forward. That’s what I’ve created inside the Innovate Academy: Momentum Lab Experience. A free 4-week live experience where you can step into a space with other entrepreneurs, share what you’re working on, and move forward with real support. We meet Wednesdays at 1 PM CST, beginning May 13. If you’re ready to stop working in isolation and experience what it feels like to move forward in community, you’re invited to join us.

By now, you’ve identified:
Creating the offer. The Overthinking TrapThis is where people start saying: “I need a package…” “I need pricing tiers…” “I need a full program…” No, you don’t. Not yet. Your First Offer Should Be One Thing That’s it.
What You Actually Need: A simple structure:
No fluff. Why Simple Wins: Because simple is:
You are testing what works. What Happens After the Session? This is important. Your job is not to:
Help them move forward. That’s success. Where This Leads Next: Now you have:
Because even with all of this… people hesitate to put it out there. Let’s deal with that next. Reflection Question: If you had to create a simple 60-minute session today, what would you help someone walk away with? In the last post, we talked about something important: You don’t need to build a full consulting business to get started. You just need to help someone solve a specific problem. Now we need to answer the next question: “What problem?” Because this is where most people get stuck. The Biggest Mistake People Make They describe what they know… instead of what they solve. For example:
But none of it is clear. And if it’s not clear, people don’t move forward. People Don’t Pay for Knowledge They pay for resolution. They are thinking:
“Let me hire someone with broad expertise.” How to Find Your Problem Zone Here’s a simple way to identify your starting point: Look at:
“What happens after I help them?” That’s your value. From Vague to Clear (Examples)Instead of: “I help with branding” Try: “I help you clarify your message so people understand what you offer.” Instead of: “I help with systems” Try: “I help you organize your process so you stop feeling scattered.” Instead of: “I help with business strategy” Try: “I help you decide your next step so you can move forward with confidence.” The Simpler, The BetterY ou are not trying to impress people. You are trying to make them feel understood. Clarity builds trust faster than complexity ever will. Where This LeadsNow that you can identify a problem… The next step is: “How do I turn that into something people can actually book?” Because knowing the problem is one thing. Structuring an offer around it is where this becomes real. That’s what we’ll cover next. Reflection Question:What is one specific situation where someone feels stuck—and you know exactly how to help them move forward? If you’re starting to see where your expertise fits but need help turning it into something clear and structured…

Not a complicated offer with a 6-month contract. Just… something. Something simple. Something useful. Something that actually helps someone—and pays you for your time and insight. Here’s the truth most people don’t realize: You don’t start with a consulting business. You start with a single conversation that solves a real problem. That’s micro consulting. And it’s far more practical than people think. The Myth That Stops Most People When people hear “consulting,” they picture:
That’s where people end up after they’ve figured out what works. Trying to start there is like trying to build a house before you’ve even picked the land. What You Actually Have (Even If You Don’t See It Yet) Let me ask you something simple. Have you ever:
That’s signal. Most people overlook this because it feels “too easy” or “too natural.” But what comes naturally to you is often exactly what someone else is struggling with. Micro Consulting Is Not “Less”—It’s Smarter Micro consulting is:
“I help businesses grow…” It becomes: “I help you figure out your next best step in 30 minutes.” That’s a completely different level of clarity. And clarity is what people pay for. The Shift That Changes Everything You are not selling “consulting.” You are offering:
“I’m stuck” to “I know what to do next.” That is incredibly valuable. And it doesn’t require a long-term commitment to deliver it. What This Looks Like in Real Life Let’s make this practical. Instead of trying to build a full consulting package, you start with:
No complicated funnel. No layered offer stack. No overthinking. Just: “I help you solve this specific problem in this amount of time.” Why This Works So Well (Especially Right Now) People are overwhelmed. They don’t want:
Micro consulting meets people exactly where they are. Where This Is Going Right now, you might be thinking: “Okay… I get the idea. But what would I actually offer?” That’s the right question. Because having experience is one thing. Turning it into something clear and useful for someone else is the next step. In the next blog, we’re going to break that down: 👉 How to identify the exact problem you can help people solve 👉 How to avoid vague offers that confuse people 👉 How to pinpoint what people will actually pay for Reflection Question: What is one problem people consistently come to you for help with and how do you usually help them solve it? If this is starting to connect for you, I’m hosting a live workshop:
